Bell Tower Project Underway

In celebration of Centenary’s 200-year history, For Heavens Sake Circle, with the approval of the Trustees, has undertaken a bell project. At the East State entrance, we will have two pillars with an iron arch to support hanging the bell of the original church building…the bell many of us heard as a call to worship and a celebration of a marriage. In addition, as funds become available, we will install electronic chimes to play songs and count the hours. We also plan to restore and display the historic transom of stained glass that now sits inside the south doors. This will be placed in a weatherproof casing and hung on the brick wall at the same north entrance. As someone enters the church under the arch of the bell, they will see this lighted piece. Finally, it is our goal to put one or two lighted stained glass crosses at the peaks of the north and west walls of the church. We were once the church where the cross led the way, and in time, we will be again.
